I don’t know if many of you have been to a TDC convention in the past or not, but I have to say It’s AWESOME. You feel like you’re in a bubble of iman the whole time you’re there and you never want it to stop.
My TDC experiences have always been great. The sisters I’ve meet there are amazing, MashaAllah. And InshaAllah, if Allah wills, I plan to be there this year.
I absolutely love Sh. Yasir Qadhi’s talks, so I can’t wait to see what topics he speaks about this year inshaAllah.
The Arabic lectures are amazing, if you understand Arabic. Somehow, the beauty of the deen is just so much more enveloped in the lectures when they are in Arabic.
Br. Nouman Ali Khan will be there for one day only, but delivering two AMAZING talks, inshaAllah. Word on the street is that he also will have a surprise announcement to make during the convention …hmm.
I myself, If I’m able to go inshaAllah, will be doing some promoting at the Bayyinah booth on that Friday of the convention, where people can find out more about our brand new seminar we’re launching next year, “Divine Speech: Literary Characteristics of the Quran.”– The balagha class which will be coming to a city near you inshaAllah very soon. Seriously, this class is going to be awesome inshaAllah. (And I’m not just saying that because I’m promoting it… It’s seriously going to blow everyone away, inshaAllah.)
I recommend everyone to try to make it to the convention this year if you can go. It’s really the best annual convention in America. I’m just waiting for them to put up the schedule for the lectures! C’mon TDC, snap snap!
If there are any sisters out there planning to be there, inshaAllah let me know I’d love to meet you. HK, can’t wait to see you again, inshaAllah
.

I have a question since you are a very knowledgable sister and doing so much dawah work, how is the background singing in this video considered halal? I’m really confused! And in your blog I came across another article some months back that actually provided evidence that this is not allowed. I don’t remember where it is. What you are promoting today is a contradiction of what you posted earlier. I hope you can post the explanation because I’m really confused and I want to learn what is correct.

Ismahen,
You shall be assimilated! Resistance is futile! All Your Base Are Belong To US!
This ain’t no fiqh forum. Got question on fiqh stuff, seek out fiqh sheikh.
That video was hype. Hats off to the producer.

@ Ismahen
If I may answer your question instead of Sr. Shireen… Since I directed this video.. I can inshaAllah answer this one..
The back ground “voices” are not music. They are vocals which are halal and not considered Music.
And just for your information, ukhti, Music was not prohibited.. its the instruments that are explicitly prohibited… (but we cant have music without instruments, hence music is haram… thats where this came from)
The hadith states, (here is the arabic text http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/9475/musickq5.jpg)
A group of my ummah will yasta7eloon (make that which is haram halal)adultery, silk (for men), win (alcoholic beverages), and musical instruments
Narrated in Bukhari.
(feel free to ask any questions in regard of Music or TDC inshaAllah)

Ismahen , with all the respect man i think u should get a life this is not a fiqh forum the brothers at texas dawah do some much great work for islam and do their best to do it according to sunnah but subhan allah some people all they do is try to look at the bad in anything forget about the good in what those people do. seriously we need to have mercy towards each other and if we have nashiiha we should do it in a proper way not by attacking the other person
and if u have a fiqh matter
go to islamq&a.com they can help u with that this is not the place for it
wa salam

SubhanAllah, I was simply just asking a QUESTION to the author of this blog. I never said ANYTHING negative about TDC nor did I come across this site thinking it was a fiqh form! If you can prove to me where I stated any of this, then surely I will raise the white flag and give up. You basically lied against me and made me seem as a liar in what I stated nothing negative about TDC or the author. Sheikh Ibn Taymiyyah in Majmoo’at-ur-Rasaa’il wal-Masaa’il (5/105) stated:”Lying against an individual is completely forbidden, regardless if he is a Muslim, a disbeliever or an evil sinner. However, FABRICATING a lie against a believer is more severe. In spite of all forms of lying on someone is forbidden, it is allowable during times of a legitimate necessity.” “Legitimate necessity” is referring to matters such as life and death situations, which is the only time haram things are permitted, in the smallest amount needed.
Anyways, as a practicing Muslim living in a country where seeking sacred knowledge about deen al Islam has become very hard… I was just browsing this site and came across the article written about Musical instruments and what is forbidden. Here is the article itself! http://egyptiangumbo.com/why-you-shouldnt-listen-to-music-or-put-them-in-your-videos-85.htm
Actually, to quote from that article, it was stated “
“Proof 1 -And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (lahwal hadeeth) to mislead from the Path of Allah without knowledge… [Luqmaan 31:6]
‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas said: “lahwal hadeeth/idle talk” means falsehood and ghinaa’ (singing).
‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ood said: Wallahi (three times) lahwal hadeeth means ghinaa’. And the same interpretation was also given by ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar.
Al-Nadr ibn al-Haarith used to tell to the people of Makkah stories of the Persians and their kings and the kings of Romans and so on, to distract people from the Qur’an. Whether it is with stories or any words drawing people away from Allah’s Words or singing, both of them are idle talk. This is why ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas said: “Idle talk” is falsehood and singing.
You (the author) put up how you are doing so much dawah work and even working on a book! So, I thought you are a person of knowledge who knows what you are writing. Thanks for completely ignoring what I ACTUALLY STATED! Is this how you treat every person who comes with a concerned question? Don’t you think that contradicting yourself may confuse your readers? Attacking someone means you know it was a contradiction! And it is sad how people do not like to be proven wrong. Especially when it comes to knowledge about the deen! Since when shall we follow or practice Islam without its proper teachings? Why are we making what is haram, halal? Don’t we have ANY sort of fear when it comes to Allah? Tell me, if you were in the presence of the anbiyaa or more important our beloved and noble Prophet Muhammad (saw) would you present to him this video and show him how you promote deen? Would you hum tunes in the presence of Muhammad (saw) and more importantly Allah?? Itakoo Rabbakum. It was just a simple question I raised when I saw the previous post.
And I did see the comment from Sr. Amatullah’s comment, even though you deleted it. So I will say jazakiallahukhayran sister amatullah for your kind reminder. It’s a shame those who apparently call others to Islam don’t have these manners.

Ismahen , bro u dont have to give us a khutbah here i see u see knowlege enough about islam to knwo about music instrument and ur question was not from someone that erally wanted to know its more from someone that knows the answer real well and just acting up , this is not the manner i would speak to most people who its obvious that u had other intention behind ur words so dont start quotes shiek al islam abn taymiyah and other scholars of the salaf here trying to stretch ur muscles on everyone giving them a khutbah then say o im only just tyring to ask an innocent question come on now , why dont u go talk to the kuffar about tawheed and shiek al islam abn taymiyah and al da3wah al najdiyah and the manners of scholars of the salaf instead of coming here and trying to make people look bad

Can someone please point out to me where I attacked “Ismahen?” because I cant seem to find it.
Because as far as I know, Br. Haytham (jazak Allah khair) replied to your question, and I didn’t see a need to point out anything further.
